How long will it take to shoot my location?

The amount of time needed to properly shoot a location can vary depending on the requested service type and size of the property. Does the location need photography, video or both? How large is the property and how many photos are being taken? For most homes, plan on approximately 2-3 hours of shooting time. Larger homes or commercial spaces can take longer to shoot depending on the size. While we always strive to work efficiently with as little interference as possible, the one thing we don't do is rush. Getting exceptional results takes time and attention to detail.

What is the typical turnaround time?

For most photography jobs, we offer a 2-3 business day turnaround. For most video jobs, we estimate a 3-5 business day turnaround. We also offer rush photography services (24 hour turnaround). *Please inform us on or before the time of appointment if you need rush delivery.

Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

If rescheduling or a cancellation is necessary, please try do so with a minimum of 24 hours notice. Every effort will be made to accommodate any rescheduling requests. A $50 last minute rescheduling fee will be charged for any non/weather related reschedules within 24 hours of the scheduled session. For cancellations, deposits will be fully reimbursed unless the cancellation is made 24 hours before the scheduled session. In the case of a cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled session, a $100 last minute cancellation fee will be charged.

What type of equipment do you use?

I use only high end, professional grade equipment. No camera phones or amateur point-and-shoot cameras will ever be used to shoot your location. I use a full-frame, 24 megapixel Sony digital camera with interchangeable lenses. We also use professional tripods and light stands for most shots to ensure they are always clean and razor sharp.

What is the resolution of the photos I will receive?

For photography, the client will be provided with 2 sets of images (one set of high resolution images, and one set of images optimized for the internet). The high resolution images will average about 5,000 pixels wide; perfect for high-end printing. The internet optimized images will be reduced to appx. 1,200 pixels wide.

Do I need to be there for the shoot?

No, you don't have to be there as long as prior arrangements have been made, and we have access to all areas of the property that will be shot.

Do you charge extra for Photoshop work?

All of our photos are individually retouched, cropped and enhanced for optimum quality. There is no charge for this service. However, there is a $50/hour fee for additional image retouching. *This applies to removal or alteration of objects or features of an image as requested by the client above and beyond the scope of the provided image retouching and enhancement services.

What areas do you cover?

We proudly service Broward, Palm Beach and Miami-Dade Counties. For all other areas, please call to request a quote.

Once I pay for a session, do I now own the copyright to the images?

No. Surface and Sky retains all the copyrights to all captured images. You, as the client, receives a standard non-transferable license. This means you have the right to use the images freely for your marketing and promotional needs, but you may not sell, give or loan the photos to any other third party.

What are your hours and are you available on weekends?

We are available from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. There is no additional charge for evening or weekend appointments. Appointments are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and fill up quickly. Please contact us as soon as possible in order to ensure you get your preferred session date and time.

Do you charge a deposit?

Yes. To book your session, we require a $100 deposit. This deposit will officially hold your session date and time. The remaining balance is due on or before the day of your session. For cancellations, deposits will be fully reimbursed unless the cancellation is made 24 hours before the scheduled session. In the case of a cancellation within 24 hours of the scheduled session, a $100 last minute cancellation fee will be charged.

What if the weather is bad on the day of the shoot?

If the weather is bad (rain, heavy clouds, etc.), you will be given the opportunity to reschedule, free of charge for the next available open shoot date. If you choose to proceed with the scheduled shoot in bad weather conditions, please note the quoted price does not include fixing rainy or cloudy skies and such. The photos will be delivered "As-Is". At the client's request, for an additional fee of $50/hour, we can make a reasonable effort to fix these problems, but offer no guarantees on the outcome. We suggest, in order to maintain optimum quality and standards, to reschedule your shoot if the weather is bad.
