Surface and Sky Photography is an American multimedia company based in South Florida that focuses primarily on photography and videography for luxury real estate, interior design, architectural, and commercial/retail spaces. Surface and Sky LLC was founded in 2018 by Nicholas Katz. He believes the homes in which we live, the businesses where we work and the spaces that surround us on a daily basis, are all very important parts of our lives. In our daily grinds, we can sometimes forget these structures have wonderful and compelling stories to tell. Our goal is to keep that philosophy in mind with every space we shoot.

Before establishing Surface and Sky Photography, Nicholas Katz spent over 16 years earning valuable experience in the various creative and marketing disciplines including photography, videography, graphic design, web design and social media. After earning his degree in 2000, Nicholas began his professional career at a multimedia firm in Hollywood, Florida. He was then hired by an international jewelry manufacturing company to work in their creative/marketing department. He was later promoted to the position of Creative Director for the company in 2004.

In 2012 Nicholas was hired to be the Creative Director of the award-winning luxury real estate firm Seaside Properties Group at Douglas Elliman. There, he managed all the aspects of creative design, photography and marketing tailored specifically to the highly competitive South Florida luxury real estate market.

Over the years, Nicholas has established a reputation of being an experienced, hard-working, dependable and detail-oriented individual. He has become well-respected in the industry for his professionalism, honesty and tireless work ethic. Additionally, working for one of the top luxury real estate brokers in South Florida for over 5 years has given Nicholas a level of understanding and industry expertise that few other photographers ever get.
